Itinerary

Please note that all times are approximate.
4:30am - 8:30am

Angkor Wat

Begin your day with an early start to experience the magic of sunrise at Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of the Angkor complex. As the first light of dawn breaks, the temple’s iconic silhouette emerges, casting a golden reflection across the tranquil moat. Explore the vast temple grounds, wandering through its majestic corridors adorned with intricate bas-reliefs that tell stories of Hindu mythology and Khmer history. Marvel at the grandeur of its central towers and discover the detailed carvings that decorate nearly every surface. Walking through Angkor Wat in the early morning provides a serene atmosphere, allowing you to fully absorb its beauty and historical significance.

8:30am - 9am

Breakfast Break

After exploring Angkor Wat, take a short break for breakfast. Enjoy a meal at a nearby local spot or indulge in a packed breakfast arranged by your hotel, recharging you for the rest of your morning adventure.

9am - 10am

Ta Prohm

Continue your exploration with a visit to Ta Prohm, famously known as the “Tomb Raider Temple.” Unlike other temples in the Angkor complex, Ta Prohm has been left largely untouched, allowing massive tree roots to engulf its stone walls and structures. As you walk through its maze-like corridors and crumbling galleries, you’ll witness nature and history entwined in an astonishing spectacle. The sound of birds and rustling leaves adds to the temple’s mystical atmosphere, making it feel like a lost world waiting to be rediscovered. The interplay of light filtering through the dense canopy above creates perfect photo opportunities, capturing the essence of this hauntingly beautiful site.

10am - 11am

Bayon Temple

Conclude your half-day tour with a visit to Bayon Temple, located at the heart of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Bayon is renowned for its striking stone faces, which gaze serenely in all directions, exuding an enigmatic and peaceful aura. As you wander through its narrow passageways, you’ll find stunning bas-reliefs that depict historical events, daily life, and mythical tales. Climb to the upper terrace for a closer view of the giant faces, each carved with intricate details. The temple’s unique architecture and the mesmerizing faces leave a lasting impression, providing a perfect end to your morning of exploration.

I made the decision to go with Angkor Doors on pure spec and was very glad I did. Our guide Bunpheng Chan was professional, cheerful, knowledgeable and insightful on the both modern and historical Khmer history and events. We took a half day air conditioned car (4 hour) tour and visited the Wat and Angkor Thom/The Bayon.

Mr Pheng was one of the best tour guides I personally experienced. We never felt that he is trying to take advantage of us and had great passion for his job. He is an interesting person with a lot of knowledge for modern and ancient history and we had amazing talks including big doses of humour!

We used Ankor doors for a 2 day guided tour and it was fabulous! Pheng’s English was good and his knowledge was great. It was very hot and water was provided all day. I don’t think you can visit Ankor Wat without a guide to help you navigate the site and the history.
