Start your morning with a visit to one of Siem Reap’s captivating floating villages. As you glide through the waterways, you’ll witness daily life in this unique community, where houses, schools, and markets float on the water. The stilted structures and bustling activity offer an authentic glimpse into the resourcefulness of Cambodian villagers. You’ll learn about the locals’ fishing traditions and how they adapt to the changing seasons, creating a fascinating cultural experience.

Take a break to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. We’ll recommend some traditional Khmer dishes, allowing you to relax and recharge before the afternoon’s activities.

In the afternoon, visit the War Museum, where you’ll delve into Cambodia’s recent history. The museum displays a collection of military vehicles, weapons, and artifacts from the Khmer Rouge era. This experience provides valuable context for understanding Cambodia’s resilience and ongoing efforts to rebuild.

Conclude the tour with a visit to Wat Thmey, known as the Killing Field. This memorial site serves as a sobering reminder of the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime. I made the decision to go with Angkor Doors on pure spec and was very glad I did. Our guide Bunpheng Chan was professional, cheerful, knowledgeable and insightful on the both modern and historical Khmer history and events. We took a half day air conditioned car (4 hour) tour and visited the Wat and Angkor Thom/The Bayon.

Mr Pheng was one of the best tour guides I personally experienced. We never felt that he is trying to take advantage of us and had great passion for his job. He is an interesting person with a lot of knowledge for modern and ancient history and we had amazing talks including big doses of humour!

We used Ankor doors for a 2 day guided tour and it was fabulous! Pheng’s English was good and his knowledge was great. It was very hot and water was provided all day. I don’t think you can visit Ankor Wat without a guide to help you navigate the site and the history.
