Itinerary
Beng Mealea
Begin your day with a journey to Beng Mealea, one of Angkor’s hidden gems. As we drive through the scenic countryside, you’ll catch glimpses of traditional villages and rice fields along the way. Feel free to make stops for photos and take in the serene beauty of rural Cambodia. Once at Beng Mealea, you’ll explore its sprawling, jungle-clad ruins. With tree roots intertwining with ancient stone walls, this “jungle temple” offers a sense of adventure and mystery. Roam through its maze-like corridors and marvel at the intricacies of this untouched marvel of Khmer architecture.
Roluos Group
After Beng Mealea, we head to the historic Ruluos Group, a set of temples that date back to the early Khmer civilization. Explore Preah Ko, known for its impressive stone carvings, and LoLei, a temple built on an island that reflects the architectural experimentation of the period. Finally, visit Bakong, the most prominent of the three, featuring a majestic pyramid-like structure. These temples offer a glimpse into the early artistic and religious traditions of the Khmer Empire.
Lunch Break
Take a break to enjoy a traditional Cambodian lunch at a local restaurant. Savor the local flavors and relax before continuing your journey into the heart of Cambodian culture.
Floating Village
In the afternoon, visit one of Siem Reap’s fascinating floating villages. Depending on the season, you’ll explore either Kompong Phluk (July to February) or Chong Kneas (March to June). As you glide through the waterways by boat, witness the unique lifestyle of the villagers, with houses perched on stilts and markets floating on the water.
