Itinerary

Please note that all times are approximate.
4:30am - 8:30am

Angkor Wat

Your tour begins early, capturing the magical sunrise at Angkor Wat. As the first light of dawn casts a golden hue over the temple’s iconic towers, the scene is nothing short of breathtaking. Walk through the complex’s grand corridors and explore the intricately carved bas-reliefs, which depict scenes from Hindu mythology and stories of the Khmer Empire. The morning’s tranquility offers a serene atmosphere, allowing you to fully appreciate the temple’s magnificent architecture and spiritual significance.

8:30am - 9:30am

Ta Prohm

After sunrise, head to Ta Prohm, often called the “Tomb Raider Temple.” Here, nature and history blend seamlessly as giant tree roots weave through the ancient stone walls. The temple has been left largely untouched since its discovery, creating an enchanting jungle-clad atmosphere. As you wander through its maze-like passages, you’ll encounter picturesque ruins and fascinating carvings that transport you back in time to the temple’s past glory.

9:30am - 10:30am

Banteay Kdei

Continue your exploration at Banteay Kdei, a serene and less-visited temple nestled in the jungle. This Buddhist monastery is known for its peaceful courtyards and intricate carvings of celestial dancers. The calm and quiet ambiance of Banteay Kdei, combined with its maze-like corridors and richly decorated doorways, provides an intimate glimpse into the spiritual and artistic traditions of the Khmer Empire.

10:30am - 11:30am

Ta Keo

Next, visit Ta Keo, a massive temple mountain built entirely of sandstone. Its strikingly simple design, with steep staircases leading to the top, makes it stand out from other temples in the Angkor complex. Climbing Ta Keo rewards you with stunning views of the surrounding forest. Although the temple remains unfinished, its towering structure and clean lines represent the grandeur and ambition of Khmer architecture.

11:30am - 1:30pm

Angkor Thom

Conclude your tour at the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Enter through the grand South Gate, flanked by statues of gods and demons, and explore the magnificent Bayon Temple, known for its iconic stone faces that gaze serenely in all directions. Walk along the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, adorned with intricate carvings. Discover the hidden corners of this vast city, filled with historical and architectural wonders, before returning to your hotel, enriched by the experience of Angkor’s cultural heritage.

I made the decision to go with Angkor Doors on pure spec and was very glad I did. Our guide Bunpheng Chan was professional, cheerful, knowledgeable and insightful on the both modern and historical Khmer history and events. We took a half day air conditioned car (4 hour) tour and visited the Wat and Angkor Thom/The Bayon.

Mr Pheng was one of the best tour guides I personally experienced. We never felt that he is trying to take advantage of us and had great passion for his job. He is an interesting person with a lot of knowledge for modern and ancient history and we had amazing talks including big doses of humour!

We used Ankor doors for a 2 day guided tour and it was fabulous! Pheng’s English was good and his knowledge was great. It was very hot and water was provided all day. I don’t think you can visit Ankor Wat without a guide to help you navigate the site and the history.
