Dress Code & Conduct Guidelines for Angkor Temples Park

Angkor served as the ancient capital and religious center of Cambodia for six centuries, from the 9th to the 15th century AD, and is located 7 km from Siem Reap city. As a significant religious site, it continues to hold cultural importance for the Cambodian people today.

To ensure a respectful and comfortable experience while visiting this sacred site, please follow these dress & conduct guidelines:

Recommended Attire

  • Loose-fitting clothing : Opt for lightweight fabrics.
  • Shorts or skirts should reach the knee.
  • Long sleeves, shirts, or T-shirts are encouraged.
  • Long pants or skirts
  • If wearing sleeveless tops, please bring a scarf for coverage.
  • Comfortable footwear : Sturdy shoes are advisable for walking.
  • Sun protection : A sun hat and sunglasses , Small Electronic fan is handy for staying cool

Attire and activities to Avoid

  • Revealing clothing
  • Flip-flops: not recommended
  • Tight-fitting garments
  • Beachwear
  • Siting on handrail & widow
  • Climbing on stone piles
  • buying or giving anything to children
  • touching the carvings
  • Smoking

Important Note

We advise against wearing new, low-quality sandals, as they may cause discomfort such as cuts or swelling, particularly for children. There is no specific dress code required for children.
